Time-line 2008: Launched Website www.bcncc.ca 2007: BCNCC hosted 6-day training sessions with Marshall B. Rosenberg, Ph.D. and other CNVC-certified trainers in, Vancouver and Nelson. 2006: BCNCC hosted ‘Affordable-Training Day’; a one-day training session for members, organized in cooperation of multiple Centers for Non-Violent Communication (CNVC) certified trainers in Victoria. 2006: BCNCC received an award of $604.86 from The Positive Living Centre of Victoria inspiring them with our values and goals. 2005 to Present: * BCNCC launched a dynamic calendar software on the BCNCC.org website. * BCNCC fielded e-mail inquiries on a weekly basis re: accessing NVC practice groups in various communities throughout the province. * BCNCC sponsored NVC training scholarships/ learning assistance annually to members. BCNCC has been instrumental in supporting most of the nine certified trainers with CNVC to access advanced training required by the CNVC certification process, as well as supporting community members to access entry-level NVC training to several dozen people who would not otherwise have had that opportunity. * BCNCC distributed a bi-weekly e-newsletter listing province-wide calendar events. * Sponsored The Library Project, a project that gifts Non-Violent Communication books in libraries across British Columbia. 2004: BCNCC promoted a 9-day International Intensive Training (IIT), with Marshall Rosenberg & 5 Certified Trainers, in Victoria. We hosted a BCNCC info table and NVC bookstore during this event. The IIT was coordinated by a board member on volunteer contract with CNVC (separate from BCNCC). CNVC's honorarium, gifted after her year of effort, was entirely used to enrich the IIT experience for trainers and participants, as well as providing full bursaries for 2 trainer candidates to stay on-site and attend as assistants.
2004 Sept 21-28: BCNCC Hosted six daylong training sessions with Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD in Vancouver and Victoria. Partnered with the Fraser Health Authority to offer a daylong workshop re: NVC in the workplace introducing close to 300 healthcare employees to the model. In addition to the public events, we also arranged a private session with Marshall for the BC Certified Trainers to support their language and growth. 2003: BCNCC hosted training presented by local certified trainers in Vancouver, Kelowna and on Vancouver Island. 2002: * BCNCC Launched Website www.bcncc.org * In September, BCNCC hosted an Intensive International Training (IIT) session with Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD in Vancouver. * * 2001: * BCNCC hosted 15 days of public trainings featuring Marshall Rosenberg in Vancouver and Victoria, including visits to a school and a prison. * Marshall gave a private training to the Community Justice Branch, which BCNCC co-sponsored. * 2000 October 23-24: BCNCC co-sponsored Marshall Rosenberg trainings with the Ministry of Attorney General in Victoria, BC. Attendees included public school educators and employees from provincial government ministries such as the Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ministry of Children and Families, Ministry of Forests, and the Residential Tenancy Branch. 2000 September: BCNCC hosted training session with certified trainer Susan Skye from US, to work with Provincial Government employees. 2000 (Aug. 9-11 Peace Conference): Marshall was a guest speaker to the Valuing the Culture and BCNCC distributed information and sold books re: NVC to conference participants. 2000 August: BCNCC hosted a two-day training session in Non-violent Communication with Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD in Victoria including a training for Ministry of Attorney General employees and a weekend-long public workshop. 2000 January 26: BCNCC is recognized as a provincially incorporated society.
